Dr. Karpecki graduated from Indiana University and completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1994. He served as Director of Research for Moyes Eye Clinic in Kansas City and ran one of the largest dedicated dry eye clinics in the Midwest. In February 2007 he took a position with the Cincinnati Eye Institute working in Cornea/External disease and Research.


He has lectured in over 300 symposia covering four continents and is the first optometrist to be invited to the Delphi International Society at Wilmer-John's Hopkins that includes the top 25 dry eye experts in the world, and the National Eye Institute's dry eye committee. This was a task force established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to better understand and treat dry eye disease in women. A noted educator and author, Dr. Karpecki presently serves on 7 professional journal editorial boards.

Dr. Prouty graduated from Pacific University and completed his fellowship training in "Hospital-based Optometry and Geriatrics" at American Lake V.A. Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. While at American Lake VAMC, he received training in advanced medical management and diagnostic techniques. Prior to Omni, Dr. Prouty was in private practice and served as a consultant at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, Department of Surgery. Dr. Prouty is a member of the American Optometric Association (COA). He was selected as the COA's "Young Optometrist of the Year" in 1988 and as COA's "Optometrist of the Year" in 2004. Dr. Prouty is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), is a founding member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society (OGS) and serves on the OGS executive committee. He is the director of the University of Houston's "Residency in Ocular Disease" at Omni while holding positions at several universities as an adjunct professor. He is a recognized national lecturer and has published several articles in national and international publications.
